I have recently started reading this book called "perfect chemistry". I'm not so far into the book but here is a moment in he beginning that really did break my heart.
Before I go into that I'm going to explain the book alittle bit. So there is this boy named Alex and he is involved with the Latin kings ( in case you don't know that is a gang). And then he gets stuck with Brittany as his lab partner.they are both from completely different worlds. Brittany is a rich white girl and Alex is a I guess you could call it low class Latino.
So he hing that broke my heart was when one morning Alex and his brother Carlos got into a fight. They were going at it and Carlos said to Alex that people will think of him as a gang member. But then his brother said to him that he can do better than that and Carlos knows it. Alex is a gang member. He knows that that life style isn't easy. And he doesn't want his little brother to go through that. It makes me want to cry because Ale wants to save his brother and doesn't realize that there is still hope for him and he can get out of being in a gang.
