I have recently started reading the book "Dope Sick". So far the book is about a kid named lil J and he is hiding from the cops. He is beig accused of shooting a cop. H has met this guy named Kevin and Kevin is replaying his life moments on television so that he could see what's wrong.
There is a particularly moment in his life that caught my attention. Lil J has a son. But he can't be part of the baby's life because of the mothers grandma. Lil J is willing to take care of his baby but the baby's grandma doesn't want him in her house. Now I find that kind of weird because usually it's the complete opposite. Usually if a girl is pregnant the mother wants the baby to have a father to take responsibility of it. They wouldn't want their daughters to raise a baby by themselves without any money.
So my question is why would the grandma do that to her daughtr and Lil J? Does she not want him there because o what he does? Is she trying to look out for her daughter and keep her away from what she thinks Is a bad influence. Yes Lil J is in the streets and he does drugs and sells it but does that mean it's goin to effect him being a good father.
The grandma of the baby has to except the fact that her daughter chose to be with this guy. She loves him and she had a baby with him. Is the mother just thinking about herself and what she thinks is better. Does she care about what her daughter thinks. She can't live her daughters life. She had her turn she should let her daughter have a turn to deal with her own life.
